France Debates on whether or not to legalize cannabis

French environmentalists, members of the Government of François Hollande, have decided to relaunch the debate on the legalization of cannabis with a bill that has no chance but to get ahead aims to evidence the lack of results from the current policy of repression.

The bill “authorizing the controlled use of cannabis,” which should be considered soon in the Senate, is an initiative signed by eleven of the 12 members of the environmental group in the upper house, whose rapporteur Benbassa Esther admits that his intention is to “encourage discussion” in statements published today by Le Figaro .

The text is presented as a framework for the Council of State then determine by decree the characteristics of plants and licensed products, and the quantities that could be sellers and consumers.  Please check out Opena Marijuana Dispensary.

The Ministry of Health would determine the maximum concentration of the active ingredient of the drug, THC, as well as indications that accompany products made with marijuana leaves.

Under the proposed Benbassa, sales would still be prohibited to minors, and legalization should be accompanied by a preventive device on the harmful effects of drug addiction.

The senator has calculated that authorize cannabis would generate 35,000 jobs and allow the state to save 1000 million for the costs of repression and criminalization of consumption and trafficking of this drug.

"Repression, very important in our country, it has not worked. The vendors will peddle the view of the world and have never been so many consumers, “he said, before remembering that while working as teacher in schools and colleges could realize the damaging effects on young people.

On the eve of the municipal elections of March in France, Benbassa recognized that under no illusions about the future of your text blocks, but despite all justified because he wants “the issue of cannabis longer be taboo in our country.”

Interior Minister, Manuel Valls, has repeated on many occasions that opposes any liberalization of cannabis, because in his opinion would be the wrong signal, particularly towards young people.  For more information check out this post.

Majority Favors Legalized Marijuana in the US

When asked if a state law that legalizes sale in small quantities in regulated business is approved, how to respond, 55 percent said they would support the legislation.

Of this, 24 percent said they would support an active and remaining 31 percent would be in favor but not actively support it.

Meanwhile, 24 percent of respondents said they would be against but not try to repeal the law, as opposed to 19 percent who say they opposed and would work to eliminate legalization.

The survey also sheds approval ratings as demographic: more than 75 percent of Americans between 18 and 34 are in favor of legalization, a little over half of those between 35 and 49 favor it, for Americans between 50 and 64, 49 percent say they approve of legal marijuana, while 38 percent of respondents over 65 were in favor.

Also, the approval rate does not vary significantly by level of education of respondents, from people who did not finish high school until Americans with a graduate.

The increasing widespread support for legalization match movements in several states by the authorities to liberalize the drug.

Colorado and Washington already have laws that allow the sale of marijuana for recreational purposes in legal clinics, in New York, Governor Andrew Cuomo issued a decree liberalizing the sale of medical marijuana, the Pennsylvania State Senate discussed the legalization of cannabis and Florida will include a referendum on the ballot the next election to be held in November.   For more information about this topic check out this post.

The Most Common Effects of Smoking Marijuana

The intoxication produced by marijuana, the plant has become the most commonly used illegal drug worldwide.

There are many colloquial names given in Latin American territory cannabis sativa, same as in most cases should be cleaned (remove seeds and branches) to be wound on a paper to smoke, these are made of rice and hemp can be flavors and even off aromas when burned, so it is shaped to a marijuana cigarette.

Consumers with low incomes at higher rates affect your respiratory system due to smoking by rolling in the grass bible paper, newspaper, brown paper or any other you have on hand.

Consumers with low incomes at higher rates affect your respiratory system because the weed smoke by rolling in Bible paper, newspaper, brown paper or any other you have on hand.

Also, pipes of different sizes and shapes have been used to inhale the smoke produced after burning the grass, as Mathias Broeckers, the oldest yet found, was located in the province of Bavaria, Germany and dates from 1500 BC Currently, some improvised smoking pipes of different materials like bones avocado, small tubes of wood or aluminum, glass, marble and other occurrences.

Other ways to consume plant

For those looking for more intense effects, dishes flavored with cannabis can lead to very satisfactory results, although excessive intake can result in unpleasant situations, more so for inexperienced consumption.

In countries where it is allowed to use marijuana, selling vaporizers has left huge profits, due to their high prices. The psychoactive effects of marijuana vaporizers is very similar to that produced after smoking it, the advantage is that the harmful effects that occur during combustion does not occur during vaporization.

Marijuana, like any other product, has different levels of quality and this is what in most cases influences psychoactive effects it can have on a consumer applying different variants.Cabe mention that the grass began to be consumed ritual purposes and there is no certainty about the date they became use as an element of fun or relaxation. Some researchers say that in ancient Greece it was used to encourage social gatherings.

The Tetrahydrocannabinol in the body

Cannabis remains the most popular illegal drug in the world, according to the World Health Organization. The analysis of this phenomenon is interesting. The Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the main psychoactive component has an almost immediate effect, depending on the quality of the product, skateboarding “put” or “placed” may be more or less intense, this is because 50 to 60% of THC , is absorbed via the lungs, swallowed as his results are much more powerful.

Somatic to consume in any presentation effects are the same in most cases, redness (due to vasodilatation), increased heart rate, dry mouth and near the end of the “journey” , hunger clearly increases, so the “monchis” (consumption of sweets) can be highly recommended.

This need to eat foods high in sugars is the result of cerebral glucose consumption by THC. Mild and moderate analgesia drowsiness, besides bronchial dilation, are other side effects that the herb.

Effects on the brain

As the only drug that stimulates the entire human brain, THC reaches its maximum potential a few minutes after smoking and if swallowed, the effects are slow in coming but lasts longer, stay in the body can take no more two half days, is metabolized by the liver and lungs to finally be eliminated in the urine and bile.

For smokers in large quantities, the time you spend to detoxify your body is at least a week as it investigated by Chris Quintas.Still does not know specifically how marijuana produced its effects, greater scientific freedom is necessary to solve the mysteries and complexities of THC in the human body.

Risks to the consumer

To date no lethal dose of marijuana is known, the most you can get is to experience fainting from excessive consumption of cannabis or when combined with alcohol.  To find out more keep reading here. In the case of poisoning combined marijuana and alcohol, the results can be riskier, because this alcohol in large quantities can cause congestion that could end the life of the user.

In rare cases, excessive consumption of cannabis can cause visual and auditory hallucinations. That is why, among other things, that cannabis is considered a “soft” drug, which means that its harmful results are lower than those produced by substances permitted by law as alcohol and snuff, causing millions industries death of millions of people so its toxic products.

Marijuana And Pregnancy

A new study suggests that women who smoke marijuana during pregnancy may impair growth and development of your unborn baby.

Fetal growth retardation and microcephaly at birth are associated with cognitive impairment, memory and behavior in childhood. Smoking during pregnancy is known, impairs fetal growth, but studies on the possible effects of marijuana had not yielded accurate data yet.

For this new study, researchers from the Netherlands followed more than 7,000 pregnant women, of which 3 percent had admitted having smoked marijuana at least during the initial stages of pregnancy.

It became known that babies born to marijuana users tend to weigh less and have smaller heads than other babies.

Moreover, the study found, the longer a woman had used marijuana while pregnant, the greater the impact on the size of the baby at birth - which would suggest that the drug is responsible.

And while most consumers of marijuana study also smoked cigarettes, drugs that appear to have much more marked and varied than the effects of snuff. In fact, marijuana was more drastic effects on birth size than snuff, according to the researchers report in the journal “American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.”

The results suggest that marijuana use, even restricted to early stages of pregnancy, may have irreversible effects on fetal growth , write the researchers, led by Hannan El Marroun from Erasmus University Medical Center in Rotterdam.

To avoid this, have researchers, women who smoke should quit before you even get pregnant.

The study included nearly 7,500 pregnant women were surveyed about their consumption of alcohol, snuff and drugs, and ultrasound were performed to monitor fetal growth during the three quarters.

In total, 214 women said they had used marijuana before and during the initial stages of pregnancy. Of these 81 percent had quit after learning they were pregnant, but 41 women continued to smoke marijuana during pregnancy.

The researchers found that, on average, consuming marijuana gave birth to smaller babies, especially those who had used the drug during pregnancy.

Women who had smoked only during the first stage of pregnancy gave birth to babies 156 grams (about 5.5 ounces) lighter than babies born to women who had not used the drug. Find out more on this topic hereWomen who continued to smoke during the course of pregnancy had babies who were 277 grams (about 10 oz) thinner than average.

Employing ultrasound determined that marijuana use only during the early stages of pregnancy causes a delay in fetal growth of about11 grams per week , while the consumption of this drug throughout pregnancy retards fetal growth approximately 14 grams per week. This can be compared with the results of snuff smoking women whose fetuses have a deficit of 4 grams per week.

Similar patterns were observed when the researchers measured the fetal cephalic circumferences.

According to the El Marroun, marijuana use in these mothers may slow fetal growth for several reasons. As the consumption of snuff, you can deprive the fetus of oxygen. It is also possible that products derived from marijuana directly affect the nervous and hormonal systems of the fetus growing.

Finally, the researchers say, pregnant women who use marijuana may have other factors in their lives, such as an unhealthy diet or chronic stress that could contribute to poor fetal growth.

3 Studies that show Vaporizers are Good For Your Lungs

Smoking marijuana, although not as harmful as cigarettes, it can sometimes lead to a condition called chronic bronchitis, causing increased cough and phlegm production.

While research has not been exhaustive vaporization, some studies provide scientific evidence of its benefits.

1. "Vaporization as a smokeless delivery system of cannabis.A pilot study ‘(Abrams et al., 2007)

A study published in 2007  by the University of California in San Francisco, compared the effects of vaporization to smoking a joint and found that vaporizers could offer the same levels of THC, while reducing the amount of carbon monoxide entering the bloodstream.  Find out more in this post here.

The study involved 18 participants and concluded that “cannabis vaporization device offers the same level of active therapeutic chemical and produces the same biological effect as smoking cannabis, but without the harmful toxins.”

Two. "Decreased respiratory symptoms in cannabis users who vaporize. '(Earleywine and Barnwell, 2007)
A Study published in 2007  by the University of New York at Albany and the University of Southern California vaporized linked to a decrease in respiratory problems associated with cigarette or marijuana joint marijuana.

Using data from an online survey, researchers found that among cigarette smokers and marijuana, which vaporized cannabis reported fewer lung problems such as “cough, phlegm and chest tightness” than those who did not.

They concluded: that “Regular users of joints (bundled), blunts, bongs and water pipes might decrease respiratory symptoms were to switch to a vaporizer.”

Three. 'Pulmonary function in cannabis users: Support for a clinical trial of the vaporizer. (Earleywine and Van Dam, 2010)

A study published in 2010  by the University of New York at Albany took the results of 2007 and was a step further.

Scientists gave vaporizers to a sample of 20 regular marijuana smokers existing pulmonary symptoms and effects of a month of daily use were observed.

After a month of vaporization, participants showed “significant improvements” in lung function, the researchers said, were comparable to those who leave the snuff.
